  • How long is a session?
Sessions are 50 minutes and typically we meet once a week.
  • How long does it take to see results?
You will leave the first session with a better understanding of your internal operating system which will help locate where the work needs to be done. The pace of change is really up to you, but my focus is always to work on the things you are trying to accomplish, so we will have fun, but there are no unfocused sessions full of chit chat.
  • How long will I be in therapy?
Therapy generally lasts a few months but can be longer if you are finding it helpful. I generally start sessions on a regular weekly schedule and then cut down to by monthly or monthly as things progress. After you feel like you have completed what you wanted to accomplish, I am always available for future tune ups.
  • Are your sessions in person or virtual?
All sessions are virtual. Covid has changed what we thought we knew about therapy. New studies have shown that virtual therapy is as effective, if not more effective than in person therapy. People report that doing therapy in their home is more comfortable and intimate than going to an office. It is also less stressful than driving or using public transportation. I have also experienced a great deal of success with working online, and I can see people no matter where they are in the world.
  • What does it take to be a successful therapy client?
Showing up for therapy is not easy. It can feel very vulnerable to need help with something as intimate as your personal life. At the beginning you may feel guarded, which is appropriate. As you build trust, it is helpful to be open and honest to make sure you are getting the best help possible. It is also very important to be able to self-reflect and take feedback.
  • What if I don’t feel the therapy is working?
Therapy is a partnership, one that we form mutually. The connection between you and me is critically important and is a two way street. The therapy process involves in-depth discussions to clarify what you really want to accomplish. I am committed to listening closely and attentively to make sure I am helping you with what's truly most important to you. If you feel something isn’t working, we will put our heads together to find a creative solution to your problem that works for you. I have many creative approaches in my training so if one method doesn't work, there are several others for us to try until we find the one that fits.
  • What payment methods are accepted?
I do not accept any insurance plans and Payment is due at the end of each session either through Zelle or Venmo. If you have insurance, a receipt will be provided to ensure you get reimbursed.
  • Is therapy confidential?
Therapy is strictly confidential. The only exception is that as a mandated reporter, I am legally obligated to report if you are a threat to yourself or others.
  • How do I know what type of therapy will be good for me?
I am certified in many modalities and approaches. I will always be fully transparent about what I am doing and why. I co-create the therapeutic approach with you so you are fully informed and in control of what we are doing.
